The Finance Department for Winona County is primarily responsible to:
Implement, direct, and supervise a program of fiscal management and financial affairs of the County
Establish and develop an effective financial system directed towards analyzing and implementing improved management accounting techniques within and between organizational entities
Research, analyze, develop, and evaluate policies, procedures, and systems of fiscal importance to the County and advise administrative staff and the County Board of Commissioners as to their impact on the County
Provide management positions on economic items that have not been presented during the collective bargaining process or interest arbitration, including information specifically collected or created to prepare the management position
Supervise professional and support staff and performs related financial management work as required
