Household Hazardous Waste Facility

Overview

Winona County operates a permanent Household Hazardous Waste Facility that allows residents to dispose of their household hazardous waste at no charge.

Facility Hours: Monday-Friday  8:00 am-4:30 pm year round (excluding holidays)

Eligible Participants

  • The Household Hazardous Waste Facility is for Winona County residents only. Please bring proof of county residency (i.e. driver's license).
  • Wisconsin Residents--we are unable to take your waste. Please contact La Crosse County Hazardous Waste at 608-785-9999 for disposal options.
  • Houston County residents should call 507-724-5800 and Fillmore County residents  should call 507-765-4704 for upcoming hazardous waste collection events in your area.

  • Fluorescent Bulbs (Disposal of 10 Bulbs Per Year Is Free)

  • Motor Oil/Filters
  • No auto batteries, ammunition, appliances, TV's or electronics.
  • Non-Controlled Medications
  • Paint
  • Pesticides
  • Propane Cylinders
  • Rechargeable Batteries
  • Residential Sharps

  • Stain/Varnish
